Day 14 - I AM RECONCILED TO GOD - 2 Cor. 5:18 In the beginning, when Adam and Eve sinner, there was a separation. Sin placed a gap between man and God. A debt had to be paid to reconcile what had been broken. Our passage today tells us that God reconciled us to Himself trough Christ. Christ paid our debt. He gave His life and removed the gap, repaired what was broken, and restored us back to God. When the enemy or your doubts tell you that you’re not good enough or that God won’t accept you for who you are, You can stand on this word and believe that you were worth Jesus coming down and being our reconciliation. You were worth pain, suffering, and even paying the greatest sacrifice by Jesus giving His life on the cross for you. The verse adds another part on the end. It tells us we were given the ministry of reconciliation. What is the ministry of reconciliation. We are charged with proclaiming to the world that Christ has restored us and reconciled. Our debt is paid and our sins are forgiven. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness, turn from sin, and accept Christ. Today’s Prayer: Today we thank God for Christ’s payment and the reconciliation of our sins. We pray that God will give us the boldness, the strength, and the courage to stand and proclaim to others that we are reconciled. Pray that God will send someone your way that you can share that we are restored. The separation is gone. Christ has reconciled each of us.

Day 13 - I AM HEALED BY HIS WOUNDS - 1 Peter 2:24 Today, our verse tells us why Christ died for us. It begins by telling us that He (Christ) personally carried our sins in His body on the cross. Why did He do this? So that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. What does it mean to be dead to sin? It means that the sin no longer has authority over us. Then it tells us: “By His wounds you are healed.” We know that God has the power to physically heal us. The Bible has many accounts of this. We also hear of how God had touched people and brought healing in their life. While we know of the physical healing, this verse in particular is going beyond this. This verse also refers to spiritual healing. To understand the spiritual healing that took place, let’s go back some… way back. In the beginning, God created mankind. He made man and woman in His image. However, when Adam and Eve sinned, there was a separation. There was a disconnect. We were held captive to sin and the sin became a part of who we are. But when Christ was beaten, suffered, and died for us, He made a way for this to be restored. Heal is defined as “become sound or healthy again.” When He died for us, our connection was restored and became healthy again. We are healed and restored. Christ loves you so much that He endured pain, suffering, and even death so that He could heal or restore the separation and rescue us from sin and hell. He has brought spiritual healing and salvation to us. Today’s Prayer: Today, thank God for the sacrifice that was made for us. Thank Him for His restoration healing that took place so that we can spend eternity with Him. If you have not accepted Christ and you would like to, pray this. Ask God to forgive you of your sins. Ask Him to come into your heart, ask Him to restore you to your whole self. Ask Him to walk with you and guide you as you walk through life as a Christian. If you have accepted Christ and have received spiritual healing, pray for those around you. Pray that your friends, family, and those you care about come to know the love of Jesus and His salvation. Pray that God will show you opportunities to Share His love with them.

Day 12 - I AM STRONG IN THE LORD - Eph. 6:10 Throughout life, we face challenges. Things happen in our lives that test us. As we stated the other day, there are two types of people: those who are about to face a battle and those who are currently facing a battle. When facing a battle, you must be strong. If you don’t have the strength to face a battle, what happens? Chances are you’re going to loose that battle. This is true in a literal sense and is true in a spiritual sense. When Christ endured the cross, without strength He could’ve given up, called angels to protect Him, and gone back to heaven. But He didn’t. He endured. How did He do this? He prayed, He stood on the word, and He knew the importance of seeing out His mission. He gathered strength to endure His trial and brought salvation to us all. The verse in Ephesians tells us to be strengthened by the Lord and His vast strength. Does that mean that I’m going to be able to get up in the morning and bench press 3 cars, at the same time? No. This means that when we face battles, He gives us strength to endure those battles. How to we receive this strength? We pray, we read and stand on His word, and we have faith that He will see us through. We must pray to God to give us the strength to endure our trial. We must know the word of God and be able to call to mind what it says: we are called, we are chosen, we are His. And we must have faith that He will answer our prayer and that what His word says is true. Today’s Prayer: Thank God for His strength. Thank Him for the tools He’s given us to face the battles. As we learned earlier this week, thank Him for giving us the strength to be victorious. If you’re currently facing a battle, pray for strength. Pray for Christ to give you his strength to face the battle. Read the verses we’ve gone over and speak them into your life. You are chosen. You are victorious. If you’re not facing a battle, pray for those around you who are. We cannot win the battle alone. Fight alongside them. They need it. And you never know, one day you could need it too.

Day 11 - I AM SET FREE - John 8:32 Before you accept Christ, you are captive. You are in a cage of sin and separated from the freedom of Christ. There is no payment you can pay to achieve this freedom. There is only one thing that can bring this freedom. This is salvation in Jesus Christ. He payed your debt with His blood and He has brought your freedom. You must simply accept His freedom and His salvation. John 8:32 is a verse with not so many words but has a great impact. It tells us you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. There are multiple ways to see this verse. Knowing the truth is in one way is knowing Jesus and accepting Him as your Lord. God is truth; He cannot lie. Therefore, Christ is also truth. Knowing Him and accepting Him as your Lord sets you free. It sets you free from the bondage of sin and saves you. Furthermore, knowing God and Jesus cannot lie, this also means the word or the Bible is truth. It is the divine word of God; and since He cannot lie, the Bible therefore must be true. Why is this important? Because this also means that you are set free from the bondage that the enemy, those around you, and even you put yourself in. The truth is “I am chosen”; therefore, I am free from worthlessness. The truth is “I am a new creation”; therefore, I am free from the bondage of my past. The truth is “I am victorious”; therefore, I am free from the shame of failure. Throughout this devotion, we have learned many truths from God’s word. There is a difference between hearing the truth and knowing the truth. You must reach a point in your mind that what you have read goes beyond hearing or reading to knowing and standing on these truths. Today’s Prayer: Today, take a moment to be thankful for the freedom we have in Christ. Christ paid for our salvation with His life. Take a moment to thank Him for enduring pain, shame, and so much more for you. Take a moment to reflect on your life. Do you walk in freedom? Do you truly feel free? Do you need Christ to come in to set you free? Pray for His freedom to consume your life and remind you in the dark times that you are free and you are no longer held in the bondage you were once in.

Day 10 - I AM VICTORIOUS - Rev. 12:11 Has there ever been a time when you’ve just felt defeated? Like no matter what you do, you can’t win? It’s as if the enemy has taken out a person vendetta against you and you are caught in his crosshairs? During our lives, many of us feel or have felt this. I have heard it said, “There are two types of people: those are are currently facing a battle and those who about to face a battle.” This verse walks us through how victory is achieved. It says: They (those who are called, chosen, redeemed) defeated him (Satan, the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. They overcame the enemy by the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and by their testimony. Jesus paid the debt for you. Victory has already been won because He won it. But why is the testimony so important? What is a testimony? It’s your story. It’s where God brought you from. Your testimony is soo important because it tells the enemy you know where God brought you from and that He has never left you. So let’s do something. Let’s replace “him” with tactics the enemy uses against you. And your name replaces “They”. So you defeat shame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. You defeat depression, you defeat your past, and anything the enemy tries to use against you. You have the victory. Remember, you are not fighting for victory, you are fighting from victory. Victory has already been won. Today’s Prayer: Thank God for the victory that has been won in your life. Thank Him from bringing you from your past to where you are. Pray for guidance to keep you walking in victory and to remind you that He has won it for you. Also pray for those around you that need reminders. Pray that God will reveal this to them and that He may use you to remind them of their victory as well.

Day 9 - I AM ABOVE NOT BENEATH - Deut. 28:13 Yesterday we looked at the beginning of this verse. We know that God wants to bless us. He wants to make us the head and not the tail; however, we also learned that we must follow His commands. Today we continue and read the remainder of the verse. After we read about following the Lord’s commands, we read that we will be above and not below. This continues to talk about the blessings God has for us. God wants to put you above your circumstances or things in your life. A definition of above is to be higher. God wants to put you higher than the things you face in your life. You are above and not below the trials you face in your life. We know that in our lives, we will face trials. But this verse also assures us that God wants us to be above these trials. Trials will come, but they will not defeat you. Today’s Prayer: Today, we thank God for his blessing. Thank Him for bringing you above your circumstances. Take a moment to pray for reminders of His assurance to bring you above your trials. Pray for courage to be an encouragement to others to be their reminder when they face trials that God will bring them victory.

Day 8 - I AM THE HEAD NOT THE TAIL - Deut. 28:13 Today’s verse starts out by telling us “The Lord will make you the head, not the tail.” What do you think it means when it says “head” and “tail”? This verse was written to Israel speaking of the blessing God had for them. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us of the plans God has for us. God had plans for Israel to make them the head. He wanted them to prosper. He wanted them to be promoted and be in the front or blessed. What the verse says next is very important. It tells us specific conditions to this becoming a reality by saying, if you pay attention to the command of the Lord and listen to them carefully. God wanted to bless Israel in a way that when people saw them, they knew that God had done a great work in their lives and He would receive glory. Yesterday, we discussed being blessed and how God wants to bless us with salvation. He also has plans to bless you in your life. However, you must heed and follow His commands. God has plans to bless you. He wants you to be the head. He wants you to be in front, but we have a role in making this a reality. We must do our part. We must follow His command and listen to His Word. Today’s Prayer: Today, pray and thank God for His blessings in our life. He has blessed you throughout your life; thank Him for working in and through your life. Take a moment to pray for God to guide you and help you as you follow follow His commands.

Day 7 - I AM BLESSED - Galatians 3:9 Today’s verse is a simple but powerful verse. It talks about being blessed. We often talk about being blessed and blessing others at our church, and it goes partially along with this verse. But what is this verse really saying? The verse starts out by talking about those who are of faith. That’s us, Christians. If you believe and accept Christ, you are blessed. What is blessed? It is having divine favor having more than what is due. Are we necessarily talking about wealth here? No. (Does God sometimes bless us with money or things? Yes, but this is talking about more.) we’re talking out our spiritual standing. What did we discuss Christ did for us in our verse yesterday? He redeemed us. We’re blessed with salvation. That’s more than we’re due. We’re blessed with eternal life. We’re blessed with a reward in heaven. We’re blessed to be bought with a price by Jesus. Even on the days when everything is going wrong, we must remember... we are blessed. Today’s Prayer: Take a moment to thank God for the blessings He’s placed in your life. Thank Him for every favor He’s brought your way and the ways He’s intervened and helped you to prosper. Also thank Him for the blessing of eternal life. Seek Him to bring someone along that you can share your blessing with. Ask for the courage to say what needs to be said to encourage others. Take a minute to pray for reminders that even when we feel like everything is going wrong and it feels like it can’t get better, God has blessed us and we still have Him. He is all we need. Pray for the words to speak blessing to others when they feel hopeless

Day 6 - I AM REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW - Galatians 3:13 Yesterday we learned we are forgiven through the purchase of our freedom with the blood of Jesus Christ. Not only did Christ purchase our freedom, but He redeemed us from the curse we deserved. What did we deserve? We deserved hell. We deserved this by the sins we’ve committed in our lives. There was absolutely nothing we could do ourselves to take away our sins. Christ took on our curse and redeemed us. He freed us from our curse as long as we accept us. Let us remember, who the Son sets free is truly free indeed. Christ redeemed you. He bought you and set you free. Today’s Prayer: Today, thank God for sending Jesus and paying the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and becoming our curse to give us freedom. Pray that we always remember That Christ has freed up from our curse and that God will continue to guide us into freedom and not fall back into our past but continue to move forward and walk in freedom everyday. Day 5 - I AM FORGIVEN OF MY SINS - Eph. 1:7 Take a moment and answer a question for me. What is sin? Define it. Go ahead... I’ll wait. It is a willful act AGAINST the law of God. It is you making a decision to do something wrong. It is you looking at the fork in the road with two ways to go and choosing to take the wrong path. Sometimes it’s just a “white lie” and sometimes it’s more severe. But when we sin, there is a separation between us and God that takes place. To remove this separation, something had to take place. A payment had to be made. Our verse today tells us about God’s great love for us. “He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom.” It goes on to say “with the blood of His Son.” So we know that God loved us soo much that He sent His Son to be the payment for our mistakes. He didn’t send Him to the bank to pay it. He didn’t send him to the courthouse to pay it. Christ took the payment, His life, to a cross and bought back your freedom. He bought back my freedom. Through the blood, the account was paid and God forgave our sin. He did that for us. The value of your salvation was enough that someone died for you. Now, you have a role to play. We must ask for forgiveness and turn to Christ. When we turn from sin, it is not a 360 degree turn, it is a 180 degree turn. We must walk away from where we are and choose to be a new creation in Christ. God’s love for you is great. Forgiveness is yours; you just have to ask for it and receive it. Today’s Prayer: Today, we take a moment to thank Christ for His sacrifice. Thank Him for laying His life down on the cross for you. Thank God for the purchase of our freedom and the forgiveness of our sins. Pray for forgiveness of our sins. Seek Him that he may show and guide you to not only have forgiveness for the sin, but that He may help you turn from that sin and be transformed into His image. Also pray that He may reveal anyone in your life that you might share the good news of Jesus with. Pray for God to send someone your way that you can share God’s love with.

Day 4 - I AM A NEW CREATION - 2 Cor. 5:17 Yesterday, we learned we are being transformed into the image of Christ. Today, we will learn we are a “new creation”. Before we get to that, let’s talk about the beginning of the verse. “If ANYONE is in Christ...” Whats that word in all caps? Anyone. It doesn’t say some or any select group; it says anyone. Right there that shows you that there is nothing that can unqualify you from the love of Christ. Not what you’ve done, what you think about yourself, what others think about you... you just have to take the step and accept Christ. So now, let’s get to the whole “new creation” part. What’s “new”? Let’s ask Google.... New-not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time. When we really grasp this concept, this will help us walk in victory no matter what we feel about ourselves. You are a new creation! This is not physical, for those of you with achy bones, but rather a spiritually new creation. When you accept Christ, the old is gone and something that has never existed before is here. So what you did in the past, gone. Failures, gone. Mistakes, gone. Negative thoughts, gone. What others say about you, gone. You just have to decide to let them go, take on this new and be transformed by Christ. Will people try to remind you of your old self? Yes. Will Satan try to remind you? Yes. So what do we do? We acknowledge their existence in the past and we say I am being transformed and that’s not who I am anymore. So today say this out loud, “I am a new creation.” Today’s Prayer: Today, thank God for Christ’s sacrifice that allows us to step from our old selves into something new. Pray that He may help you in times that you need reminding that you are new, you’re not who you used to be, and that He has created something know and is transforming you into His image. Also, seek Him that He may guide you to someone who needs encouragement today.
